Space westerns have never looked so good.

So, evidently, I did not write an episode that will air at any point, but it's a spec script taking place within season one. Typically, producers and professionals within the TV industry are more interested in original pilots than spec scripts these days, it still might be good to have a few in one's portfolio. I wrote this spec script at Vancouver Film School and worked on it over two terms where I managed to total five drafts (and that's not counting on the edits made on a single draft before a submission).

"Chapter 6.5: The Necklace" follows the Mandalorian and the Child fleeing from the Empire to find a place to lay low for the time being. However, their only option is to go to a planet of criminals and rogues where The Mandalorian runs into a woman of his past, a former bounty hunter with Empire-related secrets of her own.

ALEENA THARAND gave up being a Guild bounty hunter after her last mission went awry. Nowadays, she takes odd jobs where she can and the occasional bounty. She's spent the last few years on Takodana, a planet known as a safe haven for smugglers, fugitives, and anyone else who might exist outside intergalactic law. Aleena is driven by a sense of justice and clear-cut morals. She's compassionate, and intelligent. Unfortunately, Aleena is not entirely who people think she is. Daughter of a failed Jedi, Aleena has the Force thrumming through her veins and a destroyed childhood. The only remnants of her past is the broken kyber crystal from her mother's former lightsaber that

hangs around her neck. Aleena was raised with the same mantras and ideas that are drilled into young padawans, but with a slight twist. To Aleena, and to her parents, love is not a weakness. Aleena's mother was forced to leave her life because she fell in love, but love does not make one less worthy of the Force and its gifts. Ironically, it seems the Force itself has a soft spot for love when the Mandalorian (her former partner whom she'd fallen in love with) practically shows up on her doorstep with a child and a target on his back.
